2016 Acura Ilx Recall

On certain vehicles, a seal in the brake master cylinder could become damaged. As a result, brake fluid could leak into the reservoir and there could be reduced braking.

Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash.

Acura will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the brake master cylinder.

On certain cars, the right axle half-shaft could detach. This could cause a loss of power to the drive wheels. Additionally, if the parking brake is not applied, this could allow the car to roll away.

A loss of power to the drive wheels or sudden, unexpected movement of the car could increase the risk of a crash.

The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their car to a dealer to inspect the right driveshaft. If the driveshaft is not fully engaged to the half-shaft, the driveshaft and half-shaft will be replaced.

On certain vehicles, the driver frontal airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure during airbag deployment. Increased pressure may cause the inflator to rupture, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury. This could also damage the airbag module, which could prevent proper deployment. Failure of the airbag to fully deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant. A failure of this component (airbag) may increase the risk of a crash or injury.

Authorized dealerships will inspect the vehicle and complete all necessary repairs free of charge (parts and labor).
