On certain aerial devices, a hydraulic hose may have been incorrectly installed between the cylinder port and load-holding valve instead of metal tubing. If the hose gets damaged, the platform or load could move suddenly.
Uncontrolled movement of the platform or load could increase the risk of injury to the operator and people nearby.
Altec Industries will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact Altec Service to inspect if a hydraulic hose is installed, and replace it with metal tubing as required.
On certain aerial devices, the bolts for the pedestal and turntable may fail. If multiple bolts fail, the turntable and pedestal could separate from the vehicle.
If the pedestal and turntable separate from the vehicle, there may be a risk of injury.
The company will notify owners by mail and advise them to perform a visual inspection of the rotation bearing bolts. If any bolts are marked with the number "6035”, the owner must do a torque check. If any of the bolts break during the torque check, take the unit out of service and replace the bolts. The bolts marked with the number 6035 that pass the torque check will also have to be replaced within 30 days.
