On certain vehicles built with dual-drive configurations, the right-hand driving position brake plunger may stick in its bore or otherwise not function properly due to improper application of lubricant during assembly. This could result in brakes sticking, brake drag, or otherwise impair brake function, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: The brake plunger will be replaced and lubricated with lithium-based grease.
A failure of this component (brakes) may increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Authorized dealerships will inspect the vehicle and complete all necessary repairs free of charge (parts and labor).
On certain vehicles with HVAC units installed on the right-hand side of the vehicle, the HVAC defrost mode door actuator can overheat. An overload of the electrical circuit could overheat the defrost actuator, potentially resulting in a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will add an additional wiring harness with four one-amp fuses to the circuit.
A failure of this component (heater and defroster) may increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Authorized dealerships will inspect the vehicle and complete all necessary repairs free of charge (parts and labor).
Certain vehicles may have been manufactured with an incorrect synchronization valve. If the driver were to release the park brake without first firmly applying the service brake, the park brake could subsequently engage unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion, at any speed. An unintended park brake application without brake light illumination would result, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install a park brake synchronization valve which will prevent the application of the park brake under those circumstances.
