PICKUP TRUCKS WITH OPTIONAL SIDE-MOUNTED TIRE CARRIERS. THE REINFORCEMENT FOR THE IN-BOX SPARE TIRE CARRIER MAY HAVE BEEN ATTACHED USING INCORRECT HEX HEAD BOLTS. UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS THE OUTER SIDEWALL OF THE SPARE TIRE MAY CONTACT THE SHARP EDGE OF THE BOLT AND POSSIBLY RESULT IN THE ABRASION OF THE SIDEWALL. SUCH ABRASION COULD CAUSE WEAKENING OF THE TIRE SIDEWALL AND WHEN THE SPARE TIRE IS USED AS A REPLACEMENT, IT COULD FAIL WITH SUDDEN LOSS OF AIR PRESSURE AND MIGHT RESULT IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL.

THE UNSHIELDED FUEL TANK MAY BE DAMAGED BY THE CENTRE UNIVERSAL JOINT OF THE TWO-PIECE DRIVESHAFT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TESTED IN A 30 MILE PER HOUR, 30 DEGREE LEFT FRONT ANGULAR FIXED BARRIER IMPACT. THESE VEHICLES MAY NOT MEET THE FUEL SPILLAGE REQUIREMENTS OF CANADA MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD 301 - FUEL SYSTEM INTEGRITY.
