On certain RV trailers, the wrong suspension parts may have been installed on the axle(s). As a result, the trailer could be overloaded and cause a wheel to detach and/or and a leaf spring to fail. This could lead to poor handling and cause a loss of control.
A loss of control could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a wheel that detaches from the trailer could create a hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash.
To reduce the safety risk, Forest River recommends not to load the RV trailer with water, propane or personal belongings until the recall repairs are completed. Forest River will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your RV trailer to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the suspension parts.
On certain RV trailers, the receiver for the removable step on the side of the trailer may not have been attached properly. As a result, the receiver could detach from the bracket and cause a person to fall.
A step that detaches could create a risk of injury.
Forest River will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your RV trailer to a dealership to inspect and, as necessary, reattach the receiver for the removable step.
On certain RV trailers, certain 12 V wiring may not have proper circuit protection. Additionally, the wiring for the solar controller may be too small. As a result, the wiring could overheat and melt before the circuit breaker trips.
Wiring that overheats or melts could create the risk of a fire.
Forest River will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your trailer to a dealership to correct the wiring.
