On a small number of trucks, the recall repairs completed by an DTNA service facility during recalls FL958 and FL966 (Transport Canada recall nos. 2022-626 and 2023-051) may not be effective. As a result, another repair is required. On certain trucks, a software problem may not detect corrosion to the brake modulator valves. As a result, the brakes on one wheel could fully apply during automatic braking. If this happens, there could be a brake pull that can cause the truck to change direction. Note: This problem doesn't affect the service brakes.
A brake pull that causes the vehicle to change direction suddenly can increase the risk of crash.
Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect, and if necessary, replace the brake modulator valves. The service facility will also update the vehicle software.
On certain trucks, the windshield glass may not allow the amount of light required by the Canadian regulations.
This small error does not affect safety.
This is not a recall. Daimler Truck North America has made changes to ensure that all new trucks have compliant windshields.
Under certain conditions, the hazard lamps could flash improperly when the active brake assist (ABA) system applies full emergency braking. Note: This recall only affects trucks equipped with the Detroit Assurance 5.0 safety system package.
Hazard lamps that flash improperly could create confusion for others and increase the risk of a crash.
Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to update vehicle software.
On certain trucks, the joint connecting the steering arm to the drag link may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the joint could loosen and separate, causing a loss of steering control.
A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.
Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect the castle nut on the drag link taper joint. The nut will be checked for the correct torque, and tightened or repaired, as necessary.
On certain trucks, the brake modulator valves could corrode. As a result, the brakes on one wheel could fully apply when the roll stability control system activates. If this happens, there could be a brake pull that can cause the truck to change direction. Note: This problem does not affect the service brakes.
A brake pull that causes the vehicle to change direction suddenly can increase the risk of crash.
Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect, and if necessary, replace the brake modulator valves.
On certain trucks, the brake modulator valves could corrode. As a result, the brakes on one wheel could fully apply during an adaptive cruise control braking event. If this happens, there could be a brake pull that can cause the truck to change direction. Note: This problem does not affect the regular service brakes.
A brake pull that causes the vehicle to change direction suddenly can increase the risk of crash.
Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect, and if necessary, replace the brake modulator valves.
On certain trucks, the fuel tubes between the fuel rail and the injectors may crack and create a fuel leak. Note: This recall only affects trucks equipped with a Cummins X12 diesel engines.
A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire.
Cummins will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a Cummins authorized service center to replace the fuel tubes for cylinders 4, 5 and 6 and install vibration isolators.
On certain trucks, the joint connecting the steering arm to the drag link may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the joint could loosen and separate, causing a loss of steering control.
A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect the castle nut on the drag link taper joint. The nut will be checked for the correct torque, and tightened or repaired, as necessary.
On certain trucks built with aluminum battery cables, the terminal that attaches the battery cable to the frame may break. If this happens, there could be a loss of electrical power and the engine could shut off suddenly.
A loss of power while driving could increase the risk of a crash.
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect the battery cables for corrosion and/or damage. They will be repaired or replaced with copper cables, as necessary.
On certain vehicles, the tie rod clamp may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the tie rod end could loosen and separate. If this happens, there could be a loss of steering control.
A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a DTNA authorized service facility to replace the tie rod clamp nuts and bolts.
On certain trucks, if the headlamp bulb is replaced and not properly installed, it could move and contact other parts inside the headlamp.
A headlight bulb that touches other parts could cause the headlamp to melt or catch fire.
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to modify the headlamp assembly and inner fender to assist with headlamp bulb replacement. A warning label/sticker will also be installed.

On a small number of trucks, the clutch damper could fail. If this happens, broken parts could prevent the clutch from disengaging. This could cause the truck to lurch or move suddenly. Note: This recall only affects trucks built with an automated manual transmission (AMT). UPDATE - After Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) notified Transport Canada about this problem, they determined that there are no Canadian vehicles affected by it. Accordingly, this safety recall was withdrawn.
There is no safety risk, as Canadian vehicles were not built with the recalled parts.
This is not a recall. This notice was published for information only.
On a small number of trucks equipped with air disc brakes and a certain steering arm configuration, a single brake caliper mounting bolt on the left side of the steering axle may not be properly tightened.
Reduced braking could cause an increase in stopping distance and create the risk of a crash.
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect and replace the brake caliper bolts, as necessary.
