THIS ABRADING IS DUE TO THE UNDER DAMPED RIDE OF THE BOSTROM SMARTSEATS AND A TENDENCY FOR THE WEBBING TO BUNCH-UP AT THE D-RING IF THE D-RING DOES NOT SWIVEL FREELY. ABRADING OF THE SEAT BELT WEBBING CAN REDUCE ITS STRENGTH AND IN A COLLISION SITUATION INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY. CORRECTION: A STIFFER BOSTROM SMARTSEAT SHOCK ABSORBER AND DIFFERENT D-RING FASTENERS ARE BEING EVALUATED. THE SEAT BELT WEBBING WILL BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED WHERE NECESSARY.

CORRECTION: INSTALL A NONADJUSTABLE 1500 PSI POWER STEERING PUMP PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE TO LIMIT STEERING ARM FORCES. REPLACE STEERING ARM WITH A DESIGN CAPABLE OF WITHSTANDING HIGHER FORCES. ADJUST MAXIMUM POPPET VALVE SETTINGS TO 500 PSI AND ADJUST AXLE STOPS.

THE CUMMINS MODEL 1988NT ENGINES ON THESE VEHICLES WERE ASSEMBLED WITH POTENTIALLY DEFECTIVE OIL COOLER GASKETS. DURING HIGH LOAD/HIGH TEMPERATURE OPERATION, LOSS OF LUBRICATING OIL MAY OCCUR RAPIDLY AND MAY LEAD TO FIRE FROM OIL BEING SPRAYED FROM A GASKET RUPTURE ONTO HOT EXHAUST PARTS. CORRECTION: GASKETS WILL BE REPLACED WITH IMPROVED STEEL CORE GASKETS.
