On certain trucks, brake fluid may be present in the brake pressure switch and wire harness. As a result, the brake switch could short circuit. Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 23511 (Transport Canada recall no. 2023-238). Additionally, certain trucks repaired under that recall require a second repair.
A short circuit can cause wiring to overheat and create the risk of a fire, even while the truck is parked and turned off.
To reduce the safety risk, International Motors advises that you should park your truck outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed. International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to an authorized service facility to replace the brake pressure switch and wire harness.
