2025 International Hv Recall

On certain trucks, the cable connection at the battery auxiliary post could contact the hold-down bracket. If this happens, there could be a short circuit. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2025-428. Trucks that were repaired under that recall also require this repair.

A short circuit could increase the risk of a fire, even while the truck is parked and turned off.

To reduce the safety risk, International Motors recommends that you should park your truck outside and away from other vehicles or buildings until the recall repairs are completed. International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to insulate the battery hold down bracket and install spacers between the batteries.

On certain trucks, poor signal strength could cause the electronic control unit (ECU) to stop working or not to work properly. As a result, some safety systems may not work, including the antilock braking system, automatic traction control, electronic stability control, active cruise control and the collision mitigation system. Note: This recall is an expansion of Transport Canada recall no. 2024-655.

On a small number of trucks, the steering gear may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the steering gear could break and there could be a sudden increase in steering effort.

A sudden increase in steering effort could increase the risk of a crash.

Navistar will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect the serial number on the steering gear and, if necessary, replace it.

On certain vehicles, the steering gear may not have been assembled correctly. As a result, the steering gear could break and cause a loss of steering.

A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.
