On certain trucks, a software problem could cause the stop lamps, low beam headlamps, high beam headlamps, reverse lamps and turn signal lamps not to turn on, or to turn on unexpectedly. This problem could also cause the lift axle(s) to raise or lower on their own.

Lamps that don't work properly could reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Lift axles that move unexpectedly could increase the risk of injury.

PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to update the vehicle software.

On certain trucks, the accelerator pedal could stick and cause the engine not to return to idle.

An engine that doesn't return to idle could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.

PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the accelerator pedal assembly.

On certain trucks, poor signal strength could cause the electronic control unit (ECU) to stop working or not to work properly. As a result, some safety systems may not work, including the antilock braking system, automatic traction control, electronic stability control, active cruise control and the collision mitigation system.

Vehicle safety systems that don't work correctly could increase the risk of a crash.

On certain trucks, the steering gear may not have been assembled correctly. As a result, the steering gear could break and cause a loss of steering.

A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.

PACCAR will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect the serial number on the steering gear and, if necessary, replace it.

On certain trucks, the glass for the side mirror(s) may not be properly attached. As a result, the mirror glass could fall off.

A missing mirror will reduce rear visibility and could increase the risk of a crash.

PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, secure the side mirror glass.

On a small number of trucks, the trailer brakes may release too slowly when the brake pedal is released. Canadian regulations require trailer brakes to release within a certain time.

In certain situations, trailer brakes that release too slowly could increase the risk of a crash.

PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace specific fittings and hoses in the air brake system.

On certain trucks, the remote fuel filter hoses may have been damaged during production. As a result, a fuel hose could disconnect and create a fuel leak. This could also cause the engine to stall while driving. Note: This recall only affects trucks equipped with an L9/PX-9 engine.

A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Additionally, a sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash.

PACCAR and/or Cummins will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a Cummins authorized service centre to install improved fuel filter hoses.

On a small number of trucks, the bolts that attach the driveshaft may loosen. If this happens, the driveshaft could separate from the truck and cause a loss of power to the wheels.

A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a driveshaft that detaches from a vehicle could create a hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash.

PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the driveshaft bolts.

On certain trucks, when the brake pedal is fully applied and released quickly, the pedal plunger could jam or disconnect from the brake valve. If this happens, there could be a loss of service brakes.
