2018 Lincoln Navigator Recall

On certain vehicles, a problem in the transmission could cause the parking pawl to become damaged. As a result, when the transmission is shifted to Park, the vehicle could move if the parking brake is not applied.

A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash.

To reduce the safety risk, Ford recommends that you should always use the parking brake when you park until the recall repairs are completed. Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the powertrain control module (PCM) software. The dealer will also inspect and, if necessary, replace any damaged transmission components.

On certain vehicles, there could be a problem with the driver and/or front passenger seatbelt pretensioner(s). As a result, the airbag warning light could turn on, and the seatbelt pretensioners could deploy without a crash. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall nos. 2024-084 and 2025-164. Vehicles that were repaired under those recalls also require this inspection or repair.

Seat belt pretensioners that don't work properly could create an increased risk of injury. Additionally, seat belt pretensioners that deploy without a crash could startle the driver and increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the driver and front passenger seatbelt retractors.

On certain vehicles, there could be a problem with the connections inside the rearview camera. As a result, the rearview camera image may not display correctly or at all when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Note: For certain models, this recall also affects incomplete vehicles.

A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the rearview camera.

On certain vehicles equipped with a 360-degree camera, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the SYNC display screen. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2023-477. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall don't require this repair.

On certain vehicles, brake fluid could leak from the brake master cylinder into the brake booster. If this happens, there could be reduced braking. Note: This problem may cause a warning chime to sound and a red brake warning indicator to display in the instrument cluster. This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a 3.5 L Ecoboost engine. This is an expansion of recall 22S11 (Transport Canada recall no. 2022-115).

Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash.

On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 23S48 (Transport Canada recall no. 2023-477) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required. On certain vehicles equipped with a 360-degree camera, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the SYNC display screen. Ford will notify owners by mail and provide you with an owner's manual insert with instructions for how to remove and adjust the centre seat head restraints.

On certain vehicles, the seat track for the second row centre seat may be missing one or both reinforcement brackets. In the event of a crash, an occupant in that seat may not be properly restrained, which could increase the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect the second row centre seat to determine if both reinforcement brackets are installed. If one or both brackets are missing, dealers will replace the centre seat frame assembly. Note: In the interim, owners are advised to adjust the second row centre seat to its full rearward position until the recall inspection or repairs are completed.

A failure of this component (structure) may increase the risk of a crash or injury.

Authorized dealerships will inspect the vehicle and complete all necessary repairs free of charge (parts and labor).

On certain vehicles, the high-pressure fuel pump may have been improperly manufactured and could fracture at its mounting flange. This could cause an oil or fuel leak which, in the presence of an ignition source, could increase the risk of fire, causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the high-pressure fuel pump, high-pressure discharge tube and mounting bolts.

A failure of this component (fuel system) may increase the risk of a crash or injury.

Authorized dealerships will inspect the vehicle and complete all necessary repairs free of charge (parts and labor).
