As a result, the microswitch may fail to automatically engage the parking brake and/or the auto park feature when the door is opened. If this happens, the vehicle could roll away. Note: This problem could also cause the radio and/or interior lights to remain on after exiting the vehicle.

As a result, the brake system malfunction indicator lamp ("BRAKE") might be displayed instead of the required indicator lamp ("(!)"). Canadian regulations require the use of a symbol, instead of text.
This small error does not affect the function of the brake system or the accuracy of the information displayed.

On certain vehicles, if the hazard lights are switched on while the ignition is off, the lights on some interior switches may not work. When the ignition and lights are turned on, the lights on the switches may stay off. Canadian regulations require certain switches to light up when the ignition is on and the lights are switched on. Note: If the hazard lights are switched off, then the ignition is cycled to off - and back on again - the switch lights should work properly.
While there is a low risk to safety, lighting of important switches is required by Canadian regulations.

On certain vehicles, the driver-front airbag module may not be properly attached. This could cause the airbag module to separate from its mount in a crash.
An airbag that separates from its mount may not function correctly and could create an increased risk of injury in a crash.
