On certain vehicles, moisture could enter the driver-side door lock microswitch and cause it to corrode. As a result, the microswitch may fail to automatically engage the parking brake and/or the auto park feature when the door is opened. If this happens, the vehicle could roll away. Note: This problem could also cause the radio and/or interior lights to remain on after exiting the vehicle.

A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash.

To reduce the safety risk, Mercedes-Benz recommends that you should always use the parking brake when you park. Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the driver-side door lock.

On certain vehicles, the vehicle type printed on the compliance label is incorrect. The vehicle type should be "MPV/VTUM" instead of "PC/VT". Canadian regulations require the vehicle type to be identified on the compliance label.

This small error does not affect safety.

On a small number of vehicles, the electronic stability program (ESP) control unit may have been damaged during assembly. As a result, water could leak into the control unit and cause a short circuit. If this happens, the vehicle stability control and antilock brake system (ABS) could turn off.

A short circuit could create the risk of a fire. A loss of vehicle stability control and/or ABS could increase the risk of a crash.

Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the ESP control unit.

On certain vehicles equipped with the emergency calling (eCall) system, the SIM card for the communications module could disable itself. If this happens, the eCall system would not work properly when there is a crash or when the SOS button is pressed.

If the eCall system does not work in an emergency situation, there could be a delay in response from emergency services.

Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to each vehicle. If the update cannot be completed successfully, you will be notified to schedule an appointment to have the update performed by a dealer.

On a small number of vehicles, the level sensor linkage on the rear axle might not have been installed correctly. As a result, the headlamp leveling system may not work properly.

Headlamps that are not adjusted properly can cause glare for oncoming drivers and could increase the risk of a crash.

Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the level sensor linkage and ensure it is installed correctly.

On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the central display. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear.

A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.

Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the rearview camera software.

On a small number of vehicles, the driver's side curtain airbag may not have been installed correctly. As a result, the curtain airbag may not properly protect the driver in a crash.

An airbag that does not work properly could create an increased risk of injury in a crash.

Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the installation of the driver's side curtain airbag. It will be repaired, if necessary.

On certain vehicles, a label on the headlamp assembly may contain incorrect information for a service technician. As a result, the headlamps may not get adjusted correctly after a repair. This could cause glare and/or confusion for oncoming drivers. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with LED headlamps.

Headlamps that cause glare or confusion for oncoming drivers could increase the risk of a crash.

Mercedez-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the headlamps.
