On certain motorhomes equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. On certain motorhomes, the ball joints on the independent front suspension may be loose. Over time, if not detected, the loose ball joints could separate, which could affect vehicle handling and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Spartan service centers will remove, clean, apply thread locker, reinstall and torque the ball joints as necessary.

On certain motorhomes, the exhaust flex tube may be misaligned which could cause it to tear. If this occurs, hot exhaust gas could blow against other components or materials increasing the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: A Spartan Motors authorized dealer will inspect and correct the flex tube alignment or replace the exhaust tube as necessary.

On certain motorhomes, the control module for the air suspension may experience a loss of power resulting in the air suspension not being able to achieve the appropriate ride height. If the vehicle is operated at a lower than specified ride height, it could cause vehicle instability increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install an independent electrical circuit to supply power to the control module.

On certain motorhomes, the rear drive axle stay rod may not have been fastened properly. This could cause the fastener to loosen and allow the stay rod to disconnect from the rear drive axle causing vehicle instability, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will tighten fasteners to specification and apply thread locker.

On certain motorhomes, the tag axle suspension hangers may move allowing the tag axle assembly to shift off center without warning, which could cause vehicle instability, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will weld the tag axle suspension hangers to the chassis frame.

On certain motor homes, the wiper blades may separate from the wiper arm connector when the wiper system is operated at the high speed setting. If the wiper system fails, the operator could have reduced visibility which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the wiper blades with a new updated model.
