On certain buses, a fitting (connected to the hydraulic pump) with an adapter for the wheelchair ramp, could crack and cause hydraulic fluid to leak into the engine compartment. A hydraulic fluid leak could be ignited by the hot turbocharger and result in an engine compartment fire. Correction: Dealers will replace the hydraulic hose and fitting.

On certain buses, should the switch on the remote throttle control panel (located in the engine compartment) not be returned to the "OFF" or "FRONT" position by a servicing technicien, and the engine RPM be set above idle, the bus can still start with the engine at idle, but once the transmission gear is selected and the brake pedal is depressed, the engine could change to a high RPM and the bus could accelerated at a higher rate than anticipated. This could result in a vehicle crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Daimler Bus will supply owners with instructions detailing modification to be applied to the throttle control switch wiring harness.

On certain buses equipped with Detroit Diesel series 50 engines, the turbocharger can fail, allowing lubricating oil to enter the exhaust system. This can result in an engine compartment fire, possibly resulting in personal injuries. Correction: Dealers will install an exhaust temperature sensor and reprogram the Electronic Control Module (ECM).

On certain buses equipped with Cummins Electronic Control Modules (ECM) on the L10G engines, the ECM does not have the ability to detect a throttle fail-safe engine shutdown command. This could result in an unanticipated, uncommanded open throttle condition without warning. If this occurs, the vehicle operator will not have control of the engine speed, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash. Correction: Cummins will replace the ECM.

Separation or delamination of the door skin may result in a passenger exiting the vehicle. Correction: Vapor will perform all repairs for the defect. It will consist of installing mechanical fasteners to secure the door skin.

Certain vehicles are equipped with Vanner 60 Series12/24 volt battery equalizers which may fail in the field without warning. The bus maybe parked with the engine turned off or while the vehicle is in motion when the failure occurs. This could result in the generation of black smoke and/or fire within the engine compartment. Correction: Vehicles will be inspected and equalizers replaced if necessary.

On certain vehicles equipped with wheelchair barriers, in the event of a frontal crash at more than 20 mph, the wheelchair barrier attaching bolts which are tapped into the floor structure could strip, allowing movement of the wheelchair barrier. This could result in injuries, or death of the disabled person or other passengers. Correction: Wheelchair barrier mounting bolts with the required nuts and washers will be installed on affected vehicles.

THE COUPLING CONNECTING THE POWER STEERING PUMP TO THE HYDRAULIC PISTON PUMP WHICH DRIVES IT MAY BE MISSING THE COUPLING RETAINER CLIPS. WITHOUT THESE CLIPS THE COUPLING IS FREE TO MOVE FROM SIDE TO SIDE. EXCESSIVE MOVEMENT OF THE COUPLING TOWARDS THE POWER STEERING PUMP WILL DISENGAGE THE TWO PUMP SHAFTS RESULTING IN LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST. THE EXTRA EFFORT REQUIRED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL COULD RESULT IN A DELAY IN STEERING RESPONSE AND PROVIDE THE POTENTIAL FOR A VEHICLE CRASH. CORRECTION: COUPLINGS WITHOUT RETAINER CLIPS WILL BE REPLACED.

THE UNWANTED APPLICATION OF THE BRAKE ON A STEERING AXLE COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO TURN IN THE DIRECTION OF THE LOCKED WHEEL AND COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH. CORRECTION: BRAKE LEVERS WILL BE REWORKED ON AFFECTED VEHICLES.

ANYTIME A COMBUSTIBLE FUEL IS ALLOWED TO FLOW UNCONTROLLED IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FIRE. CORRECTION: FUEL REGULATORS WILL BE REPLACED ON AFFECTED VEHICLES.
