Operating your snowmobile with a low fuel level after long-term storage could create increased risk of an electrostatic discharge (spark) inside the fuel tank. If this happens, vapours may be ignited inside the fuel tank, and the tank could rupture.
A spark inside the fuel tank could cause an explosion and a fire.
Polaris advises you should stop using your snowmobile immediately, and not use it until the recall repairs have been completed. If you need to start your snowmobile, you must make sure the fuel tank is full and, if it is not, then you need to add fresh gasoline to fill the tank. Polaris will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions are under development.
On certain snowmobiles, the fuel supply hose may not be properly secured and could contact the air box assembly. Over time, this could cause damage to the hose and result in a fuel leak.
A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire.
Polaris will notify owners by mail and advise you to not to use your snowmobile until the recall repairs have been completed. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.
On certain snowmobiles, steering components could become damaged in a high-impact event. This could potentially result in damage to the pitman or idler arm, which could affect steering control, and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will add steel plates to the pitman and idler arm assemblies to reduce the chance of component breakage.
A failure of this component (steering) may increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Authorized dealerships will inspect the vehicle and complete all necessary repairs free of charge (parts and labor).
