On certain vehicles equipped with an automatic fire suppression system (AFSS), the cylinder pressure release valve may not withstand engine compartment temperatures, which could result in a loss of the extinguishing agent. As a result, the fire suppression system would no longer be operational in the event of a fire, which could increase the risk of injury.
