Certain vehicles do not comply with the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act, section 5. (1) - Vehicle and Equipment Standards. The National Safety Mark (NSM) and Statement of Compliance Label (SOC) were affixed to the Elite although it does not meet the weight requirements of a snowmobile, and therefore cannot be classified as such. Correction: An updated operator's guide will be sent to owners, updated labels will be applied to the vehicle to cover any label which makes mention of the word snowmobile, and a label will be applied over the NSM and SOC labels.

On certain Ratchet Winch kits P/N 861 784 900 sold as an accessory for the Elite model snowmobile, when under tension, the winch extremity and/or the hook may become detached and act as a projectile. This situation can potentially cause serious injuries or even death. Correction: Bombardier Recreational Products Inc will send a letter to all known registered owners, urging them to immediately cease using their Ratchet Winch kit and return it to the dealer for a complete refund.
