On certain travel trailers equipped with a Dometic propane gas stove, there could be an odour of propane gas after a short period of use. If a user attempts to tighten the bolt for the stove's valve in order to stop the smell, they could over-tighten the bolt and cause damage to a seal. This can result in a constant gas leak.
A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion.
Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to replace the defective hardware and perform a leak test. To reduce the safety risk, Jayco recommends that you should not use the propane system or any propane appliance in the trailer until the recall repairs have been completed.
On certain travel trailers, the compliance label has some errors in the metric conversions. 1. The maximum cargo weight is listed as 80 kg, when it should be 807 kg. 2. The rear and spare tire pressures are listed as 5521 kPa and 5527 kPa, when they should be 552 kPa. All of the imperial data provided is correct.
These small errors are unlikely to affect safety.
