As a result, a second repair is required. On certain trucks, the stud on the frame that connects the battery and/or auxiliary power distribution to the starter may not have been installed properly. As a result, there could be a short circuit, and the wiring could overheat and melt. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2025-269. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall also require this repair.
A short circuit and/or wiring that overheats and melts can create the risk of a fire.
Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to remove the stud and relocate the jump start connection.
On certain trucks, the fasteners for the axle clamp(s) may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the clamps could loosen. If this happens, the axle could move and cause a loss of steering control. Note: This recall only affects certain trucks equipped with a TufTrac Gen 2 suspension.
A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.
Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify the owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect and tighten the axle clamp fasteners. The axle clamp castings will be replaced, as necessary.
