On certain digger derricks, the auger stow bracket could crack and detach from the boom.

Altec Industries will notify owners by mail and instruct you to contact Altec Service to inspect the base boom for cracks. Any cracks will be repaired. If the cracks aren't repairable, the base boom will be replaced. Additionally, a new horizontal auger stow support bracket will be welded to the boom.
On certain aerial devices and digger derricks, a snap ring in the hydraulic check valve assembly could fail. If this happens, the snap ring can get stuck in the hydraulic system. This could result in continued (uncontrolled) movement of the boom. Note: This recall only involves units equipped with a DC pump.
A boom that drifts or continues to move on its own could create a risk of injury to the operator and nearby people.
Altec Industries will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to inspect the check valve assembly. If the check valve assembly needs to be replaced, Altec will supply a replacement part or set up a service appointment with an Altec Service Center or Mobile Service Technician.
On certain digger derricks with solenoid-operated outriggers, the outrigger valve may not be plumbed correctly. This could cause the outriggers to continue retracting after the operator has stopped that command. Operating a digger derrick without all outriggers properly deployed could cause the unit to be unstable.
Operating an unstable digger derrick could create a risk of serious injury.
Altec Industries will notify owners by mail and instruct them to inspect the outrigger valve plumbing on their unit(s). The company will provide instructions on how to correct the plumbing.
The slope indicator placard on certain digger derricks may have incorrect information. This could make a user think that it is not necessary to level the unit while working on a slope. A unit that is not properly levelled could be unstable.
An unstable derrick unit could create a risk of injury.
