VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH 15 X 6.0 INCH WHEEL ASSEMBLIES. SOME WHEEL ASSEMBLIES MAY HAVE SUB-STANDARD ARC WELDS AT THE DISC TO RIM ATTACHMENT THAT COULD RESULT IN FATIGUE CRACKS IN THE WHEEL RIM. THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE A GRADUAL OR SUDDEN AIR LOSS RESULTING IN A TIRE BLOWOUT. SHOULD ALL FOUR WELDS FAIL, THE RIM AND TIRE WOULD SEPARATE FROM THE WHEEL DISC POSSIBLY CAUSING A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL.

VEHICLES PRODUCED BETWEEN SEPT. 19 AND OCT. 19, 1978. SOME 15 X 5.5 INCH WHEEL ASSEMBLIES MAY HABE SUB-STANDARD SPOT WELDS AT THE DISC TO RIM ATTACHMENT THAT COULD RESULT IN METAL FATIGUE CRACKS IN THE WHEEL RIM. THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE AIR LOSS RESULTING IN TIRE UNDERINFLATION AND POSSIBLE TIRE BLOWOUT. ALSO, IF ALL SPOT WELDS WERE TO FAIL, THE RIM AND TIRE WOULD SEPARATE FROM THE WHEEL DISC RESULTING IN A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL.

VEHICLES WERE MANUFACTURED WITHOUT A FUEL TANK SHIELD AT THE RIGHT FRONT CORNER OF THE MIDSHIP FUEL TANK. THIS CONDITION ALLOWS THE MIDSHIP FUEL TANK TO CONTACT THE TRANSMISSION EXTENSION HOUSING OR THE DRIVESHAFT FRONT UNIVERSAL JOINT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IMPACTED INTO A FIXED BARRIER AT 30 M.P.H. IN ACCORDANCE WITH CANADA MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD 301 - FUEL SYSTEM INTEGRITY. THE RESULTANT FUEL SPILLAGE COULD EXCEED THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE AMOUNTS BY THE SAFETY STANDARD.
