2025 Ford Ranger Recall

On certain vehicles, the engine may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the engine could fail and cause a loss of power to the wheels. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a 2.3 L engine.

A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the engine.

On certain vehicles, the pivot bolts in the height adjuster assembly for the front seats may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the bolt(s) could loosen and detach. If this happens, the seat(s) could move in a crash.

A seat that moves in a crash could increase the risk of injury.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the height-adjust link(s) and pivot bolts.

On certain vehicles, the wiring for the sun visors may not have been manufactured and/or installed properly. As a result, the wiring could become damaged and cause a short circuit or electrical arcing (sparks).

A short circuit or electrical arcing can create the risk of a fire or injury.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the sun visor wiring harness. The dealer will also update the body control module software.

On certain vehicles, the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the EGR valve could fail and cause a loss of power to the wheels. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a 1.5 L engine, 2.0 L gas or hybrid engine or 2.3 L engine.

A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the EGR valve.

On certain vehicles, a software problem with the integrated trailer module (ITRM) may cause the trailer lights not to work when towing. This problem could also cause the trailer brakes not to work on certain vehicles. Note: This problem would cause a "Trailer brake module fault" message to be displayed and turn signal telltale to flash rapidly. This recall also affects certain Super Duty incomplete vehicles.

Trailer lights that don't work could make the vehicle less visible and cause following drivers not to recognize that the vehicle is braking or intends to turn or change lanes. These issues could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a loss of trailer brakes could increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the ITRM software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership.

On certain vehicles, the electronic brake booster (EBB) may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the EBB could enter a failsafe mode and cause a sudden increase in brake pedal force. This could also cause certain advanced driver assistance systems not to work properly.

A sudden increase in brake pedal force can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, driver assistance systems that don't work properly could increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the EBB.

On certain vehicles, the instrument panel may not have been manufactured correctly. As a result, the passenger-front airbag may not inflate properly in a crash. Additionally, when the airbag inflates, this problem could also cause the instrument panel to break, and pieces could be propelled toward vehicle occupants.

An airbag that doesn't inflate properly could create an increased risk of injury in a crash. Pieces that are propelled towards vehicle occupants could create an increased risk of injury.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the instrument panel assembly.

On certain vehicles, the side curtain airbag(s) could contact the B-pillar reinforcement flange and cause them not to inflate properly in a crash.

A side curtain airbag that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to install a protective shield for the side curtain airbags.

Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause the electronic brake booster motor to shut down. If this happens, there could be a sudden increase in brake pedal force. This could also cause certain driver assistance systems not to work properly. Note: This problem would cause the antilock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC) and brake warning lights to turn on, warning messages to display in the instrument cluster and a warning chime to sound.

On certain vehicles, the bolts that secure the driver's seat may be missing or may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the seat could move or detach in a crash.

A seat that moves or detaches in a crash could increase the risk of injury.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, tighten or install the bolts for the driver's seat.
