2019 Ford Transit Recall

On certain vehicles, there could be a problem with the connections inside the rearview camera. As a result, the rearview camera image may not display correctly or at all when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Note: For certain models, this recall also affects incomplete vehicles.

A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the rearview camera.

On certain vans, the pivot points for the side mirrors could rust. If this happens, the mirrors could become loose or fall down. Note: This recall only affects vans equipped with short arm, manual fold, power-adjustable outside rearview mirrors. The recall applies to vehicles originally sold or currently registered in areas of heavy road salt usage (Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland & Labrador).

A side mirror that loosens or separates could reduce rear visibility and increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the side mirrors.

On certain vehicles, the flanges on the rear axle shafts may not be flat. As a result, the wheel nuts could loosen and the wheel studs could break. If this happens, a wheel could come loose or separate from the vehicle. Note: This recall only affects vehicles with single rear wheels, a 4.10:1 axle ratio and aluminum alloy wheels.

A wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could also hit another person or vehicle.

Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the rear axle shafts. The dealer will replace the rear axle shaft assembly, axle shaft mounting bolts, and rear wheel lug nuts, as necessary.
