As a result, some safety systems may not work, including the antilock braking system, automatic traction control, electronic stability control, active cruise control and the collision mitigation system.

On certain trucks and buses, the steering gear may not have been assembled correctly. As a result, the steering gear could break and cause a loss of steering.

Navistar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the serial number on the steering gear, and replace it, if necessary.

On certain trucks, a check valve within the air brake system may not have been assembled correctly. As a result, there could be an air pressure leak if there is a secondary brake circuit failure. This could cause the parking brakes to apply suddenly. Note: This recall only affects trucks built with a Bendix air brake system and an SR-7 spring brake modulating valve.
