2023 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Recall

On certain vehicles, the DC/DC converter could fail. As a result, the 12 V battery would not charge and a red "Stop Safely Electrical Fault Detected" warning message would be displayed. If this happens, and you continue to drive the vehicle, there could be a loss of power to the wheels and/or the vehicle's lights could turn off. Note: This recall only affects certain mild hybrid electric vehicles (MHEV).

A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Exterior lights that don't work may make the vehicle less visible to others and increase the risk of a crash.

Land Rover will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the vehicle load balancing software.

On certain vehicles, the side trim(s) on the panoramic sunroof may not be properly attached. As a result, the trim(s) could loosen and separate from the vehicle.

Trim that detaches from the vehicle could create a hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash.

Land Rover will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to secure the panoramic roof side trims.

This recall is for certain replacement engines. The oil filter housing may not have been manufactured properly. Over time, the housing could crack and cause oil to leak onto hot components in the engine compartment.

Oil that leaks onto hot components can create the risk of a fire. Additionally, an oil leak could create a hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash.

None of the affected engines have been installed in vehicles. Land Rover will instruct dealers to replace the oil filter housing assembly before each engine is installed.

On certain vehicles, water could leak into the right-rear tail lamps. As a result, the side marker lamps, brake lamps, reverse lamps and turn signals may not work.

Brake lamps, reverse lamps and/or turn signals that don't work could cause a person not to recognize that a vehicle ahead is braking, backing up or about to turn. Side marker lamps that don't work could make the vehicle less visible to others. All these issues could increase the risk of a crash.

Land Rover will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the right-rear tail lamps.

On certain vehicles, the latch for the storage compartment in the second-row armrest could fail. If this happens, the storage compartment lid could open in a crash.

A storage compartment that opens in a crash could allow objects to move inside this vehicle, and increase the risk of an injury.

Land Rover will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the latch on second-row armrest storage compartment.

On certain vehicles, an oil channel in the engine camshaft carrier wasn't drilled correctly. As a result, a buildup of oil pressure could cause an oil leak.

An engine oil leak can create the risk of a fire.

Land Rover will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the camshaft carrier and replace it, if necessary. The dealer will also replace the catalytic converter, gasoline particulate filter (GPF) and exhaust oxygen sensors, as necessary.

On certain vehicles, the driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioners could be damaged. As a result, the seat belt pretensioners may not work properly in a crash.

A seat belt pretensioner that does not work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Land Rover will contact owners by mail and instruct you to bring your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the front seat belt pretensioner tubes for damage. The dealer will replace the driver and front passenger seat belt retractors, if necessary.
