On certain trucks, the engine configuration makes servicing fuel injection lines difficult when using traditional tools. It is possible for fuel leaks to develop following recall campaign 2006258 (Mack SC0317) or when line removal is required to gain access to other engine components. Underhood fuel leakage could result in a vehicle fire. Correction: Dealers will install an updated fuel injection line that offers better clamping surface when torqued. This will be done using specially designed tools to ensure correct torque is applied.
A failure of this component (brakes) may increase the risk of a crash or injury.
Authorized dealerships will inspect the vehicle and complete all necessary repairs free of charge (parts and labor).
On certain trucks, sleeves installed as a result of repairs associated with safety recall SC0317 (Transport Canada number 2006258) may chafe the fuel injection line. This may compromise the fuel line over time, which could result in a fire. Correction: Dealers will remove the fuel injection line sleeves.
A failure of this component (fuel system) may increase the risk of a crash or injury.

On certain trucks, a leak in the fuel injection line may spray fuel on the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) pipes. The hot EGR pipes could ignite the fuel, causing an underhood fire. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the fuel injection lines. A protective sleeve will be installed over the lines. Note: Recall cancelled, see TC 2007102
