On certain motorhomes built on a Freightliner Chassis, if the headlight high beams are activated, only the high beam bulbs illuminate. The intention of the high beam function on the affected coaches is to have both the high beam and low beam bulbs illuminate together. Not having the required illumination of the road could reduce the driver’s visibility, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Newmar authorized service facilities will repair as necessary to ensure the low beam bulb will turn on along with the high beam bulb.

On certain motorhomes, there may be a loose electrical connection to the automatic transfer switch (ATS) that was not properly tightened. If the power connection is loose, it could result in a build up of heat at the connection, which could increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the electrical connections and perform repairs as necessary.

On certain motorhomes, the ball joints on the independent front suspension may be loose. Over time, if not detected, the loose ball joints could separate, which could affect vehicle handling and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Spartan service centers will remove, clean, apply thread locker, reinstall and torque the ball joints as necessary.

On certain motorhomes, when the throttle pedal is released, the associated throttle pedal sensor may not return to zero, causing the engine brake to fail to activate as expected. This could cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Daimler Trucks North America authorized service facilities will replace the throttle pedal.

On certain motorhomes equipped with a heavier weight adjustable foot pedal, the brake activation signal to the motorhome’s brake lights and to certain towed devices may not deactivate when the motorhome service brakes are released. This may cause the motorhome brake lights to potentially remain illuminated, which would result in the following road users being unaware of the driver's intentions. Additionally, if the brakes of a towed vehicle were to remained engaged, it could result in a loss of vehicle control. Both of these conditions could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Daimler Trucks North America authorized service facilities will replace the torsion spring of the pedal assembly with an improved spring.

On certain motorhomes, the control module for the air suspension may experience a loss of power resulting in the air suspension not being able to achieve the appropriate ride height. If the vehicle is operated at a lower than specified ride height, it could cause vehicle instability increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install an independent electrical circuit to supply power to the control module.

On certain motorhomes, the rear drive axle stay rod may not have been fastened properly. This could cause the fastener to loosen and allow the stay rod to disconnect from the rear drive axle causing vehicle instability, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will tighten fasteners to specification and apply thread locker.
