On certain travel trailers equipped with a Dometic propane gas stove, there could be an odour of propane gas after a short period of use. UPDATE - When Airstream notified Transport Canada about this problem, they believed that these trailers were equipped a Dometic stove affected by this problem. After further investigation, and verifying part numbers, Airstream has determined that these trailers were not built with a stove that is affected by this recall. Accordingly, this safety recall was withdrawn.

On certain travel trailers, a defect in the Demco ball coupler could allow it to separate from the hitch ball while being towed. If this happens, the trailer could disconnect from the tow vehicle.
A travel trailer that disconnects from the tow vehicle creates the risk of a crash.
Airstream will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to add shims on the backside of the ball coupler to increase clamping force on the tow ball.
The spare tire bracket could fail and separate from the travel trailer. This could cause it to fall to the ground and drag on the road or be run-over.
A spare tire that falls off could become a hazard for other drivers or people nearby.
The company will send a replacement spare tire bracket to owners and dealers. Owners who would like help installing the bracket can contact an Airstream dealer.
