2025 Ford F-150 Recall

This recall is for certain integrated trailer modules that were installed before delivery or purchased from a dealer as an aftermarket accessory. On certain vehicles, a software problem with the integrated trailer module (ITRM) may cause the trailer lights not to work when towing. This problem could also cause the trailer brakes not to work on certain vehicles. Note: This problem would cause a "Trailer brake module fault" message to be displayed and turn signal telltale to flash rapidly.

Trailer lights that don't work could make the vehicle less visible and cause following drivers not to recognize that the vehicle is braking or intends to turn or change lanes. These issues could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a loss of trailer brakes could increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the ITRM software.

Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the ITRM software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership.

On certain vehicles, a problem in the integrated park module could cause the park pawl not to engage when the transmission is shifted to the park (P) position. If this happens, the vehicle could move when it's parked, and the parking brake isn't used. Note: This problem would cause a wrench light and a shift system fault message to be displayed in the instrument cluster. For the Maverick, Escape and Corsair models, this recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 2.5 L hybrid engine. For the F-150 model, this recall only affects Lightning (electric) models.

A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the secondary on board diagnostic module (SOBDMC) software.

On certain vehicles, the electronic brake booster (EBB) may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the EBB could enter a failsafe mode and cause a sudden increase in brake pedal force. This could also cause certain advanced driver assistance systems not to work properly.

A sudden increase in brake pedal force can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, driver assistance systems that don't work properly could increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the EBB.

On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the instrument panel cluster not to display when the vehicle is started. As a result, you may not be able to see certain information about the vehicle, including the speedometer, fuel gauge, warning lights and malfunction tell-tales.

Warnings, tell-tales and gauges that don't display could increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the instrument panel cluster module software.

On certain trucks, the rear axle hub bolt(s) could break and cause the axle shaft(s) splines to wear. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels. Additionally, if the truck is parked and the parking brake isn't applied, the truck could roll away. Note: This recall only affects trucks equipped with the Trailer Tow Max Duty optional package. This is an expansion of recall 23S65 (Transport Canada recall no. 2023-705).

Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause the electronic brake booster motor to shut down. If this happens, there could be a sudden increase in brake pedal force. Note: This problem would cause the antilock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC) and brake warning lights to turn on, warning messages to display in the instrument cluster and a warning chime to sound.

On certain hybrid trucks, the seat belt reminder chime may not work when you start the vehicle and your seat belt isn't buckled. Canadian regulations require both a seat belt reminder sound and visual telltale when a driver is not wearing their seat belt. Note: This recall only affects certain hybrid trucks equipped with a 3.5 L engine.

A seat belt warning that doesn't work correctly may not remind you to buckle your seat belt. Not wearing your seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to update the audio head unit software.

On certain trucks, the engine wiring harness could become damaged by contact with the engine coolant hose. As a result, the powertrain control module (PCM) connector pins could pull out. If this happens, the engine could stall. Note: This recall only affects certain trucks equipped with a 2.7 L engine.

A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, repair the engine wiring harness.

On certain vehicles, the connecting rods may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the engine could fail. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a 3.5L engine.

An engine failure could cause a sudden loss of power to the wheels and increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the engine.

On certain F-150 Lightning (electric) trucks, the nuts for the ball joints that connect the front upper control arms to the steering knuckles may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the upper control arms could separate from the knuckles. If this happens, there could be a loss of steering control. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2024-778. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall don't require this repair.

A loss of steering control could create a risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect for loose and/or missing nuts. If any loose or missing nuts are found, the dealer will replace the steering knuckle(s) and nut(s).

On certain trucks, the bolt used to attach the lower steering shaft to the steering gear may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the connection could loosen and cause a loss of steering control.

A loss of steering control could increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the lower steering shaft bolt.

On certain vehicles, the engine cup plug(s) may not have been installed properly. As a result, engine oil could leak and cause a loss of power to the wheels. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a 3.5 L turbo engine. Vehicles affected by Transport Canada recall no. 2024-687 also require this repair.

A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Oil that leaks onto hot components can create the risk of a fire. Additionally, an oil leak could create a hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the cup plug(s).

On certain vehicles, the transmission valve body may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the reverse gear may not work, or the vehicle could move forward, when the reverse ("R") or neutral ("N") positions are selected. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

A vehicle that moves unexpectedly could create the risk of an injury or a crash.

Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the transmission main control valve body.
