Under certain conditions, the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) may not display the current tire pressure and temperature on the instrument panel's information center. Instead, it could incorrectly display a temperature and pressure that is much higher than the normal range. This could cause confusion about the actual tire pressure. Driving a vehicle with tires that are not properly inflated could cause poor handling and/or a tire failure. Note: The TPMS warning telltale will continue to function as designed and will alert you if the tire pressure is too low. This recall only affects motorhome chassis equipped with a SpartanLync tire pressure monitoring system. This recall is part of FL-935 (Transport Canada recall 2022-276).
Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.
Newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) authorized service facility to update the TPMS control module software. Additionally, a longer TPMS antenna mounting bracket will be installed on certain motorhomes.
Certain motorhomes built on a Freightliner chassis could have a problem with the rear-mounted Power Distribution Module (PDM). This could cause the tail lights not to work properly. Note: This recall replaces FL-856 (Transport Canada recall 2020-336). Motorhomes that were repaired under that recall also require this repair.
Brake lights or turn signals that do not work could cause a following driver not to recognize that a vehicle ahead is braking or intends to turn. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to contact a Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) authorized service facility to schedule a repair. The service facility will install a new wiring harness bypass.
On certain motorhomes, the wiring under the front seats may not be properly secured. As a result, the wiring could be damaged when the seat is moved. If this happens, the wiring could short circuit.
A short circuit can create the risk of a fire.
Newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your motorhome to a dealership to inspect the wiring under the front seats. The wiring will be protected and secured, as required. The dealer will also make changes to the circuit protection.
On a small number of motorhomes, the upper nut/bolt connecting the steering column may not have been properly tightened. If the nut comes loose and falls off, you could lose steering control.
A loss of steering control could create a risk of a crash.
Newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your motorhome to a dealership to inspect and tighten the upper and lower nuts/bolts on the steering column, as necessary.
On certain motorhomes, the instrument cluster may overheat and go blank for short periods of time while driving. If this happens, you may not see important information such as the vehicle's speed, gauges and warning lights.
An instrument cluster that goes blank and does not display information about vehicle systems could increase the risk of a crash.
Newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealer to update the instrument cluster control module. The dealer will also move the air ducts for the defrosting and defogging system as far away from the control module as possible.
On certain motorhomes equipped with frameless windows, the adhesive that attaches the vented portion of the windows may fail. If this happens, the glass could separate and fall from the motorhome.
A window that detaches from the motorhome could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash.
Newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your motorhome to an authorized dealer or service center to inspect and replace the vent window glass, as required.
On certain motorhomes, the fuel rail assembly could develop a leak. Note: This recall only affects motorhomes equipped with a Cummins L9 or ISX12 diesel engine.
A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire.
Cummins will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a Cummins authorized service center to inspect the fuel rail. If damage is found, the fuel rail and fuel lines will be replaced. If no damage is found, the fuel rail will be reassembled with new crush washers using a special tool.
On certain motorhomes, the fuel rail assembly could develop a leak. Note: This recall only affects motorhomes equipped with a Cummins L9 or ISX12 diesel engine.

Cummins will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a Cummins authorized service center to inspect the fuel rail. If damage is found, the fuel rail and fuel lines will be replaced. If no damage is found, the fuel rail will be reassembled with new crush washers using a special tool.
On certain motorhomes, the brake pedal may not be equipped with a return spring. As a result, the pedal may not fully return when it is released. If this happens, the brake lights may stay on. If a trailer is connected to the motorhome, this could also cause the trailer brakes to remain on.
Brake lights that stay on could cause other road users not to recognize when the vehicle is braking. This could increase the risk of a crash. Trailer brakes that do not release could also increase the risk of a crash.
Newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) authorized service facility to inspect the adjustable brake pedal assembly and install the missing return spring, if necessary.
On certain motorhomes, the mounting bolts for the steering gear may loosen and fall out or interfere with steering components. If this happens, you may have difficulty steering or there could be a loss of steering control.
A loss of steering control could create a risk of a crash.
Newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to an authorized Shyft Group Inc. repair facility to replace the steering gear mounting fasteners.
On certain motorhomes, the brake light switch or wiring could be damaged by contact with the windshield wiper mechanism. If this happens, the brake lights may not turn on when the brakes are applied.
Brake lights that do not work properly could result in road users being confused of the driver's intentions, and increase the risk of a crash.
Newmar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealer to inspect the brake light switch. It will be replaced, if necessary.
