On certain trucks, the wiring harness for the driver's and/or passenger's seat ventilation system may not have enough protection and could become damaged. As a result, the wiring harness(es) could short circuit.
A short circuit can create the risk of a fire.
To reduce the safety risk, PACCAR advises you not to use the seat ventilation functions until recall repairs have been completed. PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to replace the wire harness(es), as necessary.
On certain trucks, the power distribution center (PDC) box may be contaminated by oil and could fail. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power to the wheels. This problem could also cause the antilock brake system, exterior lighting, windshield wipers and/or defrost system not to work.
A loss of power to the wheels and an antilock braking system that don't work could increase the risk of a crash. Exterior lights, windshield wipers and/or a defrost system that don't work could reduce visibility and also increase the risk of a crash.
PACCAR will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the PDC box.
